Which Are the Most Replaced Car Parts?

Many factors play a part in the decay of various car parts. It could be driving style, road conditions, environmental factors, and many other things. However, no matter whatever the factors are, some parts still show early signs of wear in comparison to other parts.

Here are some car parts that you need to replace frequently. Going through the list will help you have better knowledge about frequently replacement parts for cars.

The Battery

Low voltage or other problems in the battery directly affect a car’s performance. Most incidents of battery failure happen due to low charge and acid stratification. Parasitic drainage could be another possible reason.

A car battery is likely to last 4 to 5 years. So, it’s better to change it within this timeframe. Also, do regular checkups to find out any physical damage, such as frayed cables and dirty terminals.

Tires

A tire’s tread takes the blow of the constant friction between car tires and road surfaces. Driving on rough tracks deteriorates its condition even faster.

Car tires have an average lifespan of 5 to 7 years. However, this duration could be more or less depending on the tire rating, driving conditions, driving habits, mileage, and more.

External Lights

Except for the headlights, most external lights tend to have a shorter lifespan. Do regular checking of the bulbs in turn signals, brake lights, taillights, and others (if your car has more) and see if they are working. Refer to the user manual to learn the correct way to check these bulbs.

Spark Plugs

These plugs help with the proper ignition of the air-fuel mixture in the internal combustion chamber. Bad spark plugs lead to engine misfire and poor mileage.

The durability of spark plugs depends on the material they are made of. For example, iridium and platinum plugs last for 100,000 miles or eight years. Plugs made of steel wire and aluminum have a much shorter lifespan.

Oil Filter

Oil filters are other commonly replaced car parts. It strains all the dirt and sludge from the oil so that the engine gets pure fuel. The more oil it strains, the dirtier it becomes. Depending on your driving and oil changing frequency, the filter should be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

Air Filter

Just like the oil filter, an air filter too strains dirt and debris so they cannot enter the engine. This part can last up to 30,000 to 50,000 miles or from 3 to 4 years. However, it will be shorter if you often drive on dusty roads.
