Toyota Mark II is a mid-size sedan that the Japanese automaker manufactured from 1968 and 2007. the first four generations (1968–1984) were known as Toyota Corona Mark II and the word ‘Corona’ was dropped with the launching of the fifth gen in 1984. The Mark 2 cars had been produced until the ninth generation (2000–2007) but the Mark II was replaced with Mark X in 2004.

The ninth-gen lineup added a 2.0L iR grade (Intelligent Rapidly) alongside iR-S and iR-V but eliminated two versions from the previous gen - Tourer S and Tourer V. The 2.0L iR model was also the reason to discontinue the G-tb model.
Later, the Mark II was transformed into Mark X, which is enjoying good sales in Japan and a few international markets until to date. Toyota added another version to this lineup - the Toyota Regalia. It was a special edition, celebrating Mark II car’s 35th anniversary.
Toyota exported the cars in several markets as Toyota Cressida across four generations from 1976 to 1992. the automaker later replaced Cressida with Avalon in North America. In fact, all Toyota Mark II variations are the same except for some little difference in trim and exterior styling.
