An Overview Of JDM Toyota Chaser
The Toyota Chaser is a mid-size sedan produced from 1977 to 2001 by Toyota Motor Company, Japan. In terms of years of manufacture, Chaser is one of the longest-running models during 24 years. The Chaser has been known as one of the “triplet sedans” as it shared the same chassis platform with the Toyota Cresta, Mark II, and Cressida.
Double wishbone suspension with coil springs is given to most of the Toyota Chaser models, especially starting with the X81 series. The Chaser and its platform are designed as a rung below the Toyota Crown, enabling Toyota to offer a sedan with a sporty look, lower tax liability, and similar levels of luxury content.

Design
In September 1996, Toyota introduced the X100 to replace the X90 Chaser. By this time, the Toyota Chaser had become a more sporty sedan; for many, it was the best-looking model and the definitive Chaser. In early generations, the designs were boxer and had more angular lines giving a more aggressive look. However, in this last generation, the design is a more rounded and flowing line.
Additionally, for the 1998 models, the Toyota Chaser received a facelift, with the most significant changes to the rear tail lights. Other changes included new fog lights with a slightly redesigned front bar.
Interior
Take a look inside the car, the seats are designed in the stripy pattern. They are very convenient and supportive with enough space for the head, shoulder, and leg. The driver seat is available in a wide range of sizes along with continuous linear adjustment as well as a lumber support bar. The Toyota JZX100 receives a driver’s side airbag and an 11-speaker stereo system.
There is a Tacho and a speedometer on the dash. The ventilation system is very good. Other standard features consist of power windows and power mirrors, traction control, adjustable steering, and storage spaces for smaller items. The Toyota Chaser JZX100 for sale is always in high demand because of its competitive price and is available for sale in many countries.
Toyota Chaser engine
Unlike the other generations, offering a wider variety of engines, the final generation primarily focused on the powerful 6-cylinder engine with naturally aspirated 1JZ-GTE, known for its smooth power delivery and reliability that provide a horsepower of 280 at 6200 rpm and 278 lb.-ft of torque at 6200 rpm.
The 1JZ-GTE was powered by a single turbo configuration instead of the twin turbo of its predecessors. These engines were also modernized to create more torque, as they had already hit the legal limit set by the Japanese Government in terms of horsepower.
Transmission
Like its predecessors, the 6th generation Chaser offered both manual and automatic transmission options. However, the manual option was less available in this period, so the Chaser focused on the automatic versions with the dominant 4-speed automatic. That also demonstrated the market's preference at that time, which focused on comfort and convenience.
