The first NSX models were equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 with 260bhp and a 0-62mph time of 7.3 seconds, however, this was replaced in 1998 by a 3.2-liter V6 with 20bhp more while the five-speed gearbox was replaced by a six-speed version. The 3.0-litre V6 was kept on but was only available with an automatic transmission known as F-Matic.
