1. First Generation

The President was decked with luxurious, expensive features, making it the official car for many high-level government officials including the then prime minister Eisaku Sato. 2. Second Generation

Nissan brought the second generation of President in 1973 under the H250 series. It had the same chassis of the first-gen model but received a complete upgrade. The company introduced the Sovereign trim in 1977 and Sovereign VIP in 1985. Another redesigned model in 1982 featuring a larger gas tank and improved suspension. It also had square halogen headlines instead of the round lights of the previous version. However, most interior and exterior features were the same.

The model came with 3.0L and 4.4L V8 engine units. The 3.0L version was available in the previous generation models too but the 4.4L Y44E was specially designed for the second-gen version. Nissan manufactured this model until 1990.

3. President HG50

This particular model acts as a link between the second generation and third generation Nissan President cars. Nissan launched it in 1989 but it went to sale a year later. The automaker marketed several versions of it with minor changes until 2002.

The car features a 4.5L V8 engine and a 4-speed automatic transmission. A shorter wheelbase version (113.4 inches) named President JS joined the series in 1993. A Royal Limousine model manufactured by Autech—Nissan Motor’s special vehicle subsidiary—also joined the lineup at the same year.

4. Third Generation

The new model was launched in 2001 with improved and lavish features. The Nissan President interior of the four-passenger limousine features expensive equipment including a relaxed seat with a rotating option, Bose sound system, and many other electronic devices.

The 3^rd-gen model was discontinued in August 2010 because its safety features did not comply with the safety regulations introduced at that time. Nissan found it financially not viable to relaunch the car with upgraded safety features.
