When i first thought of buying a car, i scrolled through the net looking for an affordable car, i came across CAR FROM JAPAN and since it was my desire to have a Japanese used car, i searched for one in my range but unfortunately my resources were scant so i settled for a locally Japanese used car that a friend was disposing to settle a financial obligation.when the news hit the village, every one celebrated because of my generosity, They said "now we have a real car which can accomodate everyone, reason, in my family we've got several relatives with automobiles but few can hike a brother. The car was in super condition since it was "lady driven' (Here in Kenya if you want to fetch good money on a second hand vehicle, you use adages like, 'expatriate driven', Lady driven', 'formerly Indian owned', etc).so to keep the car in top shape i needed a mechanic i can trust and so for my very first visit to the garage, for a normal service, i put on my overall. I followed every little detail the mechanic performed, asking questions that would irritate a 'not so patient person'. By the time he was done, i had learnt so much in theory i felt as if i could dismantle and reassemble a car..that's day dreaming!! He suggested a few things that needed change within a few miles on the road.
following day i hit the road for a two hundred kilometer journey, travelling on a new built superhighway, the car was exceptional, competing with brand new machines on the road, especially on the hilly stretches since i come from a mountainous country side, and outdoing them...speak of a CAR FROM JAPAN, they never disappoint.
The fuel intake was outstanding, i couldn't believe i used less on the pump than i would have used to board a public transport vehicle. Now i know that those in the middle class segment of economic ladder are not that big spenders as i thought.
A few weeks later is when i got my first scare on the the road, i was doing around 80 km per hour on a busy urban highway when the engine went off and the brakes became hard that i couldn't stop, luckily there was no vehicle nearby otherwise it could have been an accident. when the car slowed and halted, i opened the bonnet to see whats going on, that's when i realized that all the theory i had learned on my first visit to the garage was useless and inapplicable in my situation. so i called my mechanic guy and explained my predicament, he was not in a position to help since he was out of town, so he advised me to look for a mechanic who can diagnose the problem. The guy i got told me, after a few minutes of checking here and there, that the fuel filter was blocked and needed a change, so i bought a new one and it was installed and i resumed my journey.
A few miles down the road, the same thing happened, this time at a round about about, with car infront of me, i had to think first and luckily there was no vehicle on the opposite side so swerved to the wrong side and climbed on a pavement and the car stopped. some guy helped me to push the car to a nearby petrol station. The station mechanic didnt take long to locate the problem, the car had NO ENGINE OIL and had no WATER! Both were refilled and my journey resumed. I called my mechanic to update him and he lectured me for ignoring a very simple and tireless task, on my first visit to his garage he had told me to always check the engine oil and radiator water levels before embarking on any journey. i learnt my lesson the hard way.
My question is, if you wont mind to offer a free advise, after that incidence i noticed that the car developed some vibration especially when the gear is on neutral or drive but not moving, what could have gone wrong?
I have learnt to treat my car with utmost care, just like my body, the car needs tender love. the above incidence reminded me of a time i was sick and i visited a private doctor who misdiagnosed my ailment and gave me WRONG MEDICATION and by the time taken to another doctor, semi conscious, i had already consumed the whole dose of wrong medicine.
Since then i never visit a doctor or swallow any medicine without seeking advice online. And so did the CAR FROM JAPAN page on Facebook, i never take the car to a mechanic without referring to your many and very relevant posts on your wall. i have learnt a lot about cars and car maintenance. CAR FROM JAPAN is my online mechanical doctor and i am looking forward to much more from you wonderful guys.
The car have given me exemplary service due to the many important tips i learn from your Facebook updates and it my desire to upgrade to a better and spacious car that can accommodate me in all aspects. Im very hopeful that i will be the lucky winner of one of the 4 free cars on offer from CAR FROM JAPAN.
RECEIVE MY HEARTFELT GRATITUDE
John Githinji.
