ByTsukasa Azuma-December 22, 2020

In the modern world, there are still many unofficial methods about saving energy that people still believe in and spread out to new drivers. However, not all the tricks are true. On the contrary, many methods can actually drain your car energy away.

Top 8 Energy-Efficiency Myths

Every driver wants their vehicles to run longer with the small amount of fuel, but not everyone knows whether their saving methods are right or wrong. Here are 8 questionable techniques that car owners usually apply to make their vehicles more fuel-efficient. Here is the fact about these tips:

This conception is only true with old car models. In contrast, modern models are designed to be able to drive a few seconds after turning on. Starting the engine a moment before driving is only convenient in the winter when you need to break the ice on car surface. However, this does not contribute to car energy-efficient.

The older the car is, the more fuel it wastes

“My car has been used for 3 years, 6 years, or even 9 years. Should I change to a new car for fuel-saving?” Of course, you can, if you are rich!

According to EPA (the United States Environmental Protection Agency): “Vehicles with 10 or even 15 years old do not decrease their energy-efficiency if they got maintenance in the right way

Advises For Car Users

The price of gasoline and diesel are huge when running a vehicle in current time, so it is easy to understand why most drivers are looking for the perfect methods for fuel efficiency.

In order to save fuel, our first advises are to schedule the trips before going and driving smoothly. Since starting the engine and sudden brakes burn more oil than driving at a normal speed, it is wise to schedule the time and the road you will travel before going.

Secondly, the car AC burns oil, so based on the weather, drivers can turn it off for energy saving.

Lastly, checking the engine and vehicles parts is essential, since damaged and old car parts consume more energy than the new ones.
