Over the past decade, Africa has emerged as the most lucrative market for second hand cars. You cannot talk about Africa's appetite for used cars without the name Japan appearing in between, hence these two have become strategic allies in the business of used cars.

Today Africa is the largest importer of Used cars from Japan by far compared to other continents.

The reason why there is a significant burst to seams of demand for Japanese used cars is simply because African continent is witnessing sharp upsurge of middle class families.

This has contributed towards the need for cars and not just any car but a budget car. The one that is reliable and easy to maintain.

In this regard the brands most Africans are familiar and comfortable with are cars made in Japan. For example, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu among others.

At the same time most african mechanics have an apprentice on engines made in Japan.

Hence there is the issue of condition of roads. In malawi like many African countries, roads are pathetic and in bad shape. Meanwhile, Japanese models are well built to survive in such conditions. The other important factor about Japanese cars is also that the cars and vehicles of the second sale undergo a strict quality check before they are exported to different parts of the globe. The cars of Japanese make give much better performance in the bad road conditions of Africa. So also the cost effective rates are helpful for the fulfillment of the day to day needs of African public.

Statistics indicate that Of all the cars that you will find most roads of Africa, maybe with an exception of South Africa, most of the other countries import Japanese used cars. Of all imports making their way to malawi for instance, Toyota leads, followed closely by Nissan, Isuzu, Honda and others in that order.

According to online research, Toyota is loved because of its top-notch quality, consistency and reliability. For instance, Toyota Corolla is the most favorite car for Kenyans. Mostly, small families who want to invest in a sedan or wagon buy from this brand. It is affordable, safe and easy to drive.

The research further reveals that Nissan brand comes second in popularity. Honda cars are the last in the list of best selling brands in this region. However, compared to other models in the automobile industry, the brand takes the third position.

In malawian roads for every ten cars that pass-by nine are Japanese made.

It is against a background of the reasons stated above that motivates me to be part of winning team of people that use Japanese cars. My affection for the Japanese cars cannot be overemphasized.
