I have always been a person who likes to push boundaries and find ways to challenge myself. I was 9 when I first noticed that math at school was not challenging enough, so I decided to take part in the Elmacon math contest at UBC. I was a medallist and top finisher for 3 years in a row. To this day, I continue to have that same competitive mentality in everything I do, whether it may be academics or athletics. My competitive spirit pushes me to excel in the things that I do and I believe that my driven personality would contribute positively to the IB community.

I enjoy working with like-minded people, who work hard and have high standards for themselves. To do well in IB requires commitment and hard work, and I believe that I possess these qualities based on my involvement in math competitions and debate tournaments. To excel in competitions requires ample preparation and to do this along with maintaining good grades in school requires dedication and hard work. Moreover, work ethic is also very important for me to excel in all aspects of my school life and work after school. I learned from my experience of participating in various extracurricular activities and working as a tutor that having a good work ethic and time management is imperative for success in school and in activities outside of school. I feel that IB would not only give me a stimulating and challenging class environment, it would also allow me to grow and learn together with my peers. Personally, IB would be a perfect canvas for me to draw and create a picture of lifetime learning, to set me up for the next stage of life after high school.

CAR FROM JAPAN should pick me to be the winner since I am very hard working, but unfortunately don't have the funds to buy a car. Everyday to go to work, I need to walk long distances that are very hard physically in the long run. A car would not only be beneficial but life changing as well since it would improve my life dramatically. A Japanese used car, (Japanese is good!!!) would be very reliable and efficient for my daily use. I sincerely and dearly hope that i will be able to win a free car as this would change my life and my family's life forever. Thanks so much!
