Let me start by saying 'Ekamawir Omo Car from Japan from the Pleasant Island of Nauru'

I as a Nauruan born and bred grew up riding in Japanese cars. My late grandmother spoke fluent Japanese learning the language during World War II even though she had no ounce of Japanese blood in her veins. Regardless we the Nauruan generation of today grew up learning about the Japanese culture and traditions to the point that most cars imported in the country are from Japan. I guess Nauru and Japan have some similar tastes such as seafood, manners and appreciating what we get.
The majority part of winning this competition must be convincing and honest.
I remember one time my mother owned a grey Toyota. I am the Eldest son of four female siblings and three brothers, and two of the girls are older than me. She would drive us around the island every evening to at least get half of us asleep after the 30 minutes drive back home. The car was her lifesaver she would later say as though it was simple and cheap, it helped her big time. Without a car and caring for eight children was a thought she can't accept nor she would have been able to survive. It was hard because Dad had been seen another woman and was never at home but Mum was able to do it all, managed using that simple grey Toyota car.
There was a time the car could not start, this was devastating for her not being able to get by, and failing to organise without her car was very very hard, at time she would lock herself away and cry. Realising she had stuck herself in a situation and unable to move forward draws her thinking of the failures life promised it would seem. Her car was just another way her to cope and bypass all her problems.
I suppose if I was in her shoes and was to in some luck own an expensive American car I guess she would not been able to rely on it owing and thinking of the great deal of maintaining it. But for a Japanese car, it was way cheaper and affordable parts are available all around without major worries of ordering and such.
The difference of owning a Japanese and American car is a big difference. I would always choose a Japanese car hands down at any place and time owing to cheaper option and availability.
The Government of Nauru is also using Japanese cars, as per mentioned the availability is undeniably incomparable to other country cars.

Thank you Car from Japan for the lovely memories and for what it yet to come.
